Assessment Schedules

2021/22 CRHS IB Internal Assessment Schedule
Assessment Types

Students in the IB Diploma Progam have two kinds of Summative assessment:
-
In-school assessments conducted in each class which are reflected in school report card marks as percentages.
-
IB assessments completed to fulfill the requirements of the Diploma Program including Internal and External Assessments.
-
Internal Assessments are generated by IB, administered and marked by the subject or Core teacher and the results are issued to IB. A sample of each Internal Assessment is requested by IB to be sent for a process of review called "Moderation" which is used to achieve consistent standards of evaluation and set grade boundaries.
-
External Assessments are generated by IB, mentored or administered by teachers and then sent directly to IB examiners for marking. These include the final examinations in each subject.
-

In addition to these Summative assessments, teachers make use of a broad variety of Formative assessments which provide practice, diagnose learning and prepare students for IB assessments by using previous papers or evaluations. In the spring of grade 12, Mock Exams are given using previous years' examinations to ready the students for the May examination environment and expectations.
